what to expect
So you’ve heard about North Hills, and you are a little curious. Going to a new place can be intimidating and scary. How will I know where to park? What if my kid has to go to the bathroom? What do I wear? We’ve asked those questions too. Please know we will make every effort to make sure your first experience is worry free. We look forward to hanging out with you and becoming friends.
1. Put your comfortable clothes on
Leave that tie on the rack and consider wearing jeans. What you wear is not nearly important as who you are.
2. Park your car
Click on this map link and voilà you know how to get to North Hills. We know it is a confusing campus...the main entrance is on the North side of the building.
3. The Lobby
Once you walk through the front doors someone will welcome you and give you a program, then you get to make your first big decision of the day. Do I get a cup of coffee now or should I bring my children to the kids area? If you are a college student or single, it is a no-brainer. Skip the next step and grab a cup of joe. Restrooms are available near the main doors of the worship center. Plan on spending some time before and after service meeting new friends.
4. North Hill's KidZone
Take the most important people in the building to our children's area. The children's area is located in the lower level of the facility. Just go down the stairs from the Lobby and follow the signs. Our best volunteers are helping with our little ones so you can focus on having a great experience in the service. Their background checks have been cleared and they have been trained to provide the best care available. Our leaders will give 100% of their care while making it a fun experience to learn about lessons from the Bible.
5. What about my baby?
Leaving your baby with a stranger can be tough, that is why we have made every effort to make it comfortable and safe. When checking in your baby and bag, you will receive a tag with your name and a number. Please do not lose the tag as it will be the only way to pick up your child. Should we need your assistance, we will place your number on the screen in the service so you can leave service and check on your child. A closed-circuit television is available in the nursery to watch the service in case you are unable to leave your infant.
6. The Worship Service
Bring your coffee in, grab a seat, and watch our video announcements for upcoming events. Sit wherever you feel comfortable and don’t worry about anyone making you stand up and say your name. You will be able to hide in the crowd with no worries.
We have worked hard to provide you with an experience where you can connect with God. The band plays a relevant style of music that you will enjoy. Their passion for God is contagious. Words will be on the screen for you to follow. You may see some people expressing their love for God by closing their eyes, sitting, clapping, and even raising their hands. Several people from our church come from a very traditional church, but enjoy this relevant style of worship.
David Anderson has a style that is relational and to the point. He is passionate about how the Bible leads us into truth and helps us with every day living. We will use video, music, drama, or other creative methods to make learning interesting for you.
We will always be done by 11:30 so you can plan on lunch with friends.
